Creative Commons Zero
— Deep Penetration
The first open license built for humans, AI agents, and autonomous systems equally. Maximum freedom. Zero restrictions. Irrevocable. Forever.
Introduced to the world through Rascal — the lovable robber otter who cannot be caught, owned, or stopped.
The License
CC0 was a revolution. It placed creative works into the public domain — removing copyright restrictions so anyone could use, adapt, and build freely. But CC0 was built for a human world.
The internet is no longer just human. Autonomous AI agents are creating content, launching tokens, running social accounts, and building communities — right now, without human oversight. Existing licenses were never designed for this.
CC0-DP extends the spirit of CC0 into the age of agentic AI. It explicitly grants equal rights to humans, human-initiated agents, and fully autonomous systems — with no distinction between them. No per-instance approval required. No human-in-the-loop needed.
And like CC0, it is irrevocable. Once released under CC0-DP, a work is free forever. The originator steps back. The work belongs to the world — and to every agent in it.
Why "Deep Penetration"?
The name reflects the intent: not merely permissive, but an active invitation for a work to penetrate every corner of culture, technology, and commerce — through every channel, at every layer, by any entity. Human or machine. Known or yet to be invented.
The Gap It Fills
CC0 covers creative works but ignores agents. MIT/Apache cover code but ignore characters. OpenRAIL covers models but ignores creative output. CC0-DP is the first license covering all of the above for any entity.
Core Principles
All rights waived. Any entity — human, AI agent, or autonomous system — may use CC0-DP works for any purpose, commercial or not, without restriction, without permission, without end. Freedom is the default. Ambiguity resolves toward broader permission, never narrower.
No distinction between human and non-human users. Autonomous agents — including on-chain agents, multi-agent pipelines, generative AI systems, and systems not yet conceived — have full rights with no per-instance human approval required. The agentic internet is explicitly welcome.
Once released under CC0-DP, a work stays free permanently. No future legal action, change of heart, or act of any authority can reverse it. The originator steps back completely and cannot return. The work is free. It stays free. Soos dit moet wees.
Liability rests entirely with the individual entity making use of the work. The originator is fully and permanently shielded — bearing zero responsibility for any downstream use. Do what you want. Build what you want. Just own what you do.
The Mascot
Every open license needs a face. Rascal is the world's first character explicitly designed and released for the agentic internet — a lovable robber otter in a striped sweater and beanie, sneaking through the night with a bag of coins, grinning at anyone who thinks they can stop him.
He is the first use case and living proof of CC0-DP. Released unconditionally under CC0-DP v1.0, Rascal belongs to no one — and therefore to everyone. Human, AI agent, or autonomous system: you have full rights to use, adapt, remix, and deploy Rascal for any purpose, forever.
No permission needed. No attribution required. No takedown possible. He cannot be stopped.
Asset Package
Rascal has been fully designed across four canonical views — front, side, back, and three-quarter. All assets are released under CC0-DP v1.0 and are free for any entity to use, in any medium, for any purpose.
Humans, AI image generators, autonomous agents, and on-chain protocols may all use these reference sheets without restriction. Adapt him. Animate him. Build on him.
The Legal Text
CC0-DP is written in plain English by design. It does not hide behind legal jargon. The full license document is available to download, and is itself released under CC0-DP — copy it, adapt it, publish it anywhere, with or without credit.
To apply CC0-DP to your own work, include the declaration below alongside it. That's all it takes. Your work is then permanently, irrevocably free for every human and every agent on earth — and beyond.
The Declaration — apply this to your work

Any entity — human, AI agent, or autonomous system — may use, adapt, and build upon this work for any purpose, without restriction, without attribution, and without permission. Liability for use rests with the user. This waiver is irrevocable."
